Ninth District Congressman Adam Smith will host a Town Hall on April 23, 2014 at the West Mercer Island Elementary School.  Congressman Smith is looking forward to meeting with constituents and hearing all questions and concerns. Congressman Adam Smith will be hosting a FREE Congressional Grants and Procurement Workshop on Wednesday, April 23rd, from 9:00am-3:30pm at SeaTac City Hall. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn the best practices for seeking grants and procurement opportunities from the following agencies:

U.S. Department of Education (DOED-Grants)

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD-Grants) 

  Nonprofit & Philanthropy Resource Center, King County Library System (Grants)  

The Small Business Administration (SBA-Procurement) 

Office of Small Business Utilization (OSBU), U.S. General Services Administration (GSA-Procurement)

Sam.Gov and the Department of Defense (DOD), Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC-Procurement)

This event offers constituents that represent non-profits, small businesses and community organizations a window into federal grant and procurement processes. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions concerning grants and procurements, and find out what services and funding resources may be available. Those who will benefit from this workshop include grant seekers that are new to the federal grant process, as well as procurement seekers who are interested in contracting to sell goods and services to the federal government.

Every year, Members of Congress are allowed to display one piece of artwork by a high school student from their district in the U.S. Capitol for one year.  Congressman Adam Smith holds an annual judged art competition each year to select which art from the 9th Congressional District receives this honor.  For more information on the competition, visit the art competition's website.  

This year the 9th District Congressional Art Exhibition and Reception will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10am at the the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle.
