If you are interested in obtaining a Letter of Support from Congressman Adam Smith for your grant application, please complete our Letter of Support application. This completed application, along with your supporting documents, is required to allow our office to assist you with your grant request. We prefer two weeks notice if possible.
The letter is sent electronically via PDF to the person making the letter request for inclusion of their grant application packets. If the request for assistance is from a board or council member, the member should give a staff contact. A draft letter with their language is helpful; however we rewrite the letter for Congressman Smith. Letters are addressed to the contact person at the federal agency.
Requests will be honored whenever possible. Federal funds are extremely competitive; proposals must fit within the federal agency guidelines to be considered.
Please understand that while Congressman Smith can write a Letter of Support on your office’s behalf, he cannot promote your office for an award or direct a federal agency to decide a grant in your favor.
If you have any questions, please contact the Grants Coordinator at (425) 793-5180.
