Tax Day is April 15th
Here are a few tips to ensure that filing your taxes this year is as easy as possible:
Free Tax Filing Through the IRS
This year, the IRS will provide free tax filing service to eligible tax payers via their website.
Free File is available to anyone with income less than $57,000, thanks to a public-private partnership between the IRS and commercial tax software companies. It offers free federal tax preparation and e-file options.
If you are a high school or middle school student that resides in Washington State's 9th Congressional District and are interested in learning how to obtain a Congressional Nomination to one of the U.S. Service Academies, you should attend U.S. Service Academy Night, hosted by Congressman Adam Smith. The event will host Field Representatives from the Military Academy at West Point, the Air Force Academy, the Naval Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy, and the Coast Guard Academy.

Odle Middle School/Team Atom Wins the BPA Middle School Science Bowl and Spot in National Finals
My annual "Ninth District Day" conference in Washington, D.C. will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2012. Ninth District Day is a forum that brings together Washington state constituents, as well as policy, media, and other leaders in Washington D.C. Location of the event is to be determined.
