Community Health Centers and Children's healthcare providers were pleased to learn on Wednesday that Washington State has been awarded a $16,987,468 performance bonus from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid to support the enrollment and retention of eligible children in Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The awards also help offset costs of enrolling lower income children in Medicaid.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development has announced it will award Washington State $38.6 million to support more than 200 projects that address homelessness. The grant is a part of $1.47 billion Continuum of Care awards that ensure more than 7,100 homeless programs around the country remain operational in 2012.
