House Passes Government Funding Package with Over $17 Million for the Ninth District
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Adam Smith (D-Wash.) today issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024, a package of six government funding bills. The package includes over $17 million for projects across the Ninth District that Rep. Smith requested through the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 appropriations process.
“Today’s passage of this bipartisan government funding package is an exciting step forward for the Ninth District. We are one step closer to securing important federal funding for community projects across the district that will help tackle some of our region's most pressing challenges, including housing, transportation, economic opportunity, and public safety. This government funding package also keeps our government open and makes important investments in programs and services that will help fight the high cost of living, create good-paying jobs, combat the climate crisis, ensure veterans receive the health care and benefits they deserve, and more. I’ll keep working to get all twelve of the government funding bills signed into law to keep our government open and deliver important investments in families and communities across the country.”
